A classic logic puzzler

Your job is to find the locations of 'atoms' in a sealed black box by firing 'electrons' into the box and observing where/if they emerge. Simple rules determine if electrons are deflected, reflected, or absorbed. Can you deduce the location of the atoms from the behavior of the electrons? And how quickly can you do it--you'll score better the fewer electrons you use to solve the puzzle.
